I usually go with my usual Katsu or deep fried salt and pepper pork chops, hefty scoops of rice, that tasty Mac salad keeps me going back. Under 15 bucks and I'm out the door! There's a cult following to this small mom and pop eatery, so get to it before everyone else does. ”

“ Takeout Dinner in Waipahu, Oahu, Hawaii... Looking for a quick meal nearby, I searched my Yelp app and found Garden Island Café. I was relieved to see reviews from my friends, Jo Y., Fran C., Gail U., Marisa G., Iris T., Serena M., Julie T., Alice N., and Jace T. They're trustworthy Yelpers! Free parking was a breeze. Inside, several customers were waiting in line for their orders. The competent, friendly cashier interacted with each person politely and efficiently! I got the two daily specials at $10.25 each: Garlic Fish and Beef Broccoli. The "to-go" bag was ready in no time. When I opened the boxes at home, I was surprised at the generous amount of beef broccoli - filled to capacity! The garlic fish was delicious! I was really happy with the food and service! I look forward to returning and getting the next weekly special! ”

“ GIC is a small hole in the wall on Leokane street in the same place as Kuni Restaurant and Suzies on Leokane Street. Parking is usually alright here but can get crowded at dinner time on the weekends and peak lunch hours. It's really small inside with a few tables to sit on, but because so many people like me just do takeout here it's not a deal breaker. Inside is cluttered with takeout boxes, but like I said here to grab food and go. The trip here is always worth it for their food since I haven't had one bad experience yet. I had a craving for garlic fish and their beef chow fun. It worked out today since the beef chow fun was a the daily special for the week at $10.25. They have lunch specials from 9:30-2:00 for only $9.25 and their daily specials are at $10.25 for the week. They rotate the specials pretty well with their top sellers so you can catch a better deal on some days for them. The plates are SO cheap here for the amount of food you get!!! It's like a cheap L&L on steroids lol. The food tastes so good too. It tastes as good or even better than sit down Chinese restaurants, and you'd never figure that since the service is so fast here. They have a facebook page where they list their lunch and weekly specials, so add them there or just call and ask what it is. ”

“ I finally got a chance to try this place after numerous recommendations from friends. All the great things they were saying are all true. Great service. Great food, great prices. It's located in Waipahu. Plenty of parking. The restaurant is small. I always do take out. They have a great variety of local and Chinese dishes. Daily and weekly specials as well. I ordered take out and it was quick and easy. The food came out hot, fresh and flavorful. I like the mochiko chicken , Korean chicken, pork chops and noodles. Everything I have ordered so far has been spot on. On my favorite list for sure. ”
